About Us

A brief history

Founded by Italian born Manlio Guidetti and his British wife Patricia in 1989, the first Guidetti Fine Foods 'headquarters' was their home in Bromley, Kent. Manlio's first hand knowledge of Italian foods and how to find them proved to be a big success. The products became increasingly popular, so moving to premises near Borough Market in London Bridge was the answer to accommodating the increasing demand for foods coming in from all over Italy. In August 2002 we moved to even better premises at Astbury Business Park in London SE15.

Guidetti today

Seventeen years after it was founded Guidetti is still a family owned business. Today it is run by daughter Irene Guidetti, whose love of food comes from her Italian family roots. Born in Modena, Italy, Irene also spent time living and studying in Bologna.

Supporters of the Borough Market

Since moving premises to Peckham we no longer participate in the weekly Borough Market. We do however think this is still the most exciting food market in London. A gourmet gathering of food businesses trading in the area, you will find Konditor & Cook, Brindisa, Neal's Yard Cheese and the Monmouth Coffee Company. Alongside these permanent retailers are the growers and producers of a mouth-watering selection of foods from around Britain who are regular stall holders.
