Italian Honey
Our selection of great honeys comes from the lush alpine valleys of Lombardy, the region near the Swiss border, where the wild flowers and trees blossom in the clean air.
Millefiori (a thousand flowers) has a golden, slightly dark colour, and a high percecentage of it comes from the rare alpine Tarassaco flower (dandelion). Acacia honey is clear and moderately sweet with a flowery taste and a lovely hint of vanilla, and is available plain or with white truffle. Rhododendron honey is delicate and floral, and worth trying with some gorgonzola dolce. Castagno (chestnut) honey, by contrast, is quite dark, not overly sweet and has a moreish bitter aftertaste.
